About the shop


Rainbow Turtle operate a wonderful little treasure trove of a shop in the centre of Paisley. The shop opened in August 2002 and is staffed almost exclusively by a dedicated team of volunteers.

Location - 7 Gauze St, on the corner with Smithhills St, on the ground floor of the Methodist Central Hall. The shop is easily accessible by car or public transport; many of the bus routes servicing Paisley stop outside the shop while Paisley Gilmour St. Railway Station is only 5 minutes walk away. The front windows of the shop look out onto the magnificent Paisley Abbey. View a map of the shop location here.


Opening Hours - 10am-4pm, Tuesday to Saturday (we open on Mondays in the run up to Christmas and occasionally hold special evening shopping events for members)


We offer a wide variety of fairly traded food and drinks along with an extensive range of ecological household products. Many of these are available to be refilled, thereby reducing waste packaging and making it even easier for you to help the environment (and also save money). We also stock a great range of fairly traded gifts and crafts from around the world including cards, stationery, jewellery and fashion accessories, clothing for adults and children, cookware, kitchenware and toys and pocket money items for children. Everyday teadirect is one of our favourites. A nice stocked up shelf of Fair-Trade goods.

lovely gardening section available at the appropriate time of the year.
Fairtrade beaded jewellry and bangles provide fashionable yet ethical accessories to locals. A glass stand for silver jewelly resides the other end of the shop.
